Prepare all necessary materials.
Shine a flashlight into the opening of your fully opened drill chuck:
Cross-head locking screw
A cross-head screwdriver is required.
Slotted locking screw
A flat head screwdriver is required.
Place the power drill on its back on the work surface for easier handling.
Hold the power drill spindle with an open-jaw wrench.
Using the correct screwdriver, loosen the locking screw clockwise and remove it from the drill chuck.
Remember, the screw securing the chuck has a left hand thread, turn it clockwise to unscrew it.
Place the power drill sideways on the work surface for easier handling.
Insert the allen key into the chuck and tighten the chuck clockwise to clamp it down.
Fix the spindle.
Loosen the drill chuck anti-clockwise using the allen key clamped in the chuck.
Remove the allen key from the chuck.
Unscrew the old drill chuck from the power drill by turning it anti-clockwise.
Turn new RÖHM drill chuck clockwise onto the drill spindle.
Clamp the allen key firmly into the chuck.
Fix the power drill spindle with an open-jaw wrench.
Tighten the chuck firmly onto the spindle and turn it anti-clockwise.
Place the power drill on its back on the work surface for easier handling.
Re-insert the locking screw into the drill chuck.
The screw has a left hand thread, turn it anti-clockwise to screw it in.
Fix the power drill spindle with an open-jaw wrench.
Using the screwdriver, tighten the locking screw anti-clockwise.
Subsequently tighten the drill chuck clockwise by hand.
